Welcome to my blog

My blog is going to document what I am doing in my As Media Studies.

I chose Media Studies because I have never heard of this subject before so, I was excited to learn and explore more about it.

I am looking forward for the practice, the shootings and editing, though not particularly for the whole preparation, before putting it into scene.

CONVENTION: Ident

Idents is one of the simplest area of all in the aspect of film openings. They are a production or distribution companies logo that is played before a trailer or film. It is usual for the idents to be between 1-5 seconds long. It is common to see several Idents about 2-3 that way the risk is spread. It could be possible to only see one Ident but it is very unusual. There often is an audio bridge between the Idents. However, you are going to find more signifier, intertextuality and horror colour scheme in company Idents that are more focused on horror genre.

Below are some examples of Company Idents.
...
...

In addition, there are variations for Idents. The companies change their Idents to fit with the genre or film subject. They fit their Ident to a variety of different genre for example comedy, action, sci-fi and horror.
